Charlie was born in Candor on June 13, 1938, a son of the late Harry and Mary Cherwak. His family moved to Lodi, and his parents died untimely deaths while he was still a teenager.  He was able to obtain the family farm, where he farmed crops and raised beef cattle until the time of his recent illness. Charlie loved the peacefulness of his farm, and found joy in tending to his cows, having the "know how" to repair his own machinery and his time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Martha; a son, Charles G. (Rebecca) Cherwak of Lodi;  his sisters in law, Sally (John) Hubbard and Mary Gregg; and his nieces and nephews. Charlie was recently preceded in death by his brother, Harry Cherwak of Bloomfield, MI.
