Brenda L. Niver, age 45,
of Romulus, died at Geneva General Hospital on Monday, January 23, 2012.
She remained optimistic throughout her entire battle with cancer and always lived by the motto “Just Remember Through It All, Never Give Up.”  She did not take any “bull” unless it had horns.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, January 28th at Ovid Federated Church, 7137 Main Street, Ovid, officiated by Pastor Diane Walker and Pastor Ralph Selin. Friends are invited to attend a reception following the service. The family asks those who wish to remember Brenda in the form of a contribution to kindly consider Interlakes Oncology and Hematology, 675 Washington Street, Geneva, NY 14456.
Brenda was born in Ithaca on September 8, 1966, the daughter of Edson and Betty (Terry) Baker. Brenda was a graduate of South Seneca High School. She worked as a distribution technician at Genex in Ithaca for the past several years.
Brenda had a heart full of love for all creatures, and a deep passion for the care of her horses, bulls, dogs, and cats. Those who knew her will remember her fearless attitude, both regarding her illness and life in general. She allowed nothing to stand in her way, and her strong will shone through in every aspect of her life. Even when displaying her trademark stubbornness, however, she maintained a cheerful attitude, and her smile drew attention wherever she went. A loving mother and devoted wife, she was loved by all, her family was always a priority to her, and she could find joy simply spending time with her loved ones.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Brian C. Niver of Romulus; daughter, Ninja M. DeParde of Romulus; step children Dennis and Rebecca Niver of Richmond, VA; mother, Betty J. Baker of Interlaken; grandmother, Beatrice E. Terry (Richard) Greenwalt of Ovid; a grandson, Brodie Niver of Richmond, VA; a godson, Mathew “Bucky” Moore; two sisters, Terry L.
