Frank L. Swaney, age 58
of 3444 West Covert Road, Interlaken, passed away at home on
Monday, December 31, 2012 at the .
In keeping with Frank’s wishes, there will be no public services.
The family asks those who wish to remember Frank in the form of a

Frank was born in Ithaca on May 4, 1954, a son of the late Andrew
and Betty (Hoyt) Swaney. After obtaining his Associate’s Degree from
Finger Lakes Community College, Frank began working as a carpet
installer for Carpet Bazaar in Ithaca. In 2007, due to his leukemia
diagnosis, Frank retired after 35 years of service.
Frank loved carpentry and completed many custom
projects around his home and restored many antiques. Truly a gifted
artist in many areas, Frank would draw incredibly detailed sketches.
He worked for countless hours in the yard growing many varieties of
vegetables and caring for multiple flower beds. His family and
friends will deeply miss joining him around the bonfire to hear him
sing and play guitar.
Frank is survived by his wife, Amy Jo Swaney of Interlaken; three
children, Ericka (Jeff) Babineau of Highland, Jason (Bettina) Swaney
of Manassas, VA, and Joseph (Cecily) Hill of Trumansburg; six
grandchildren; three siblings, Andrew (Maureen) Swaney of VA,
Phillip Swaney of Interlaken, and Sue (Joe) Bernagozzi of FL; and
many nieces and nephews.
