Andrew Todd Loren, age 45, of Exchange Street, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at Geneva General Hospital following a brief hospitalization. The family will receive friends from 9:30am to 10:15am at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 South Main Street in Ovid. A prayers of committal with Fr. Bart Minson, OFMCap and military honors will then be held at 10:30am at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Romulus. Andy was born on July 26, 1968 in Ilion, a son of the late James C. and Marlene (May) Loren. He graduated from Mohawk Central School, and then proudly served in the US Air Force from 1988 to 1998 during the Persian Gulf War. Upon returning from his military duty, he worked at Remington Arms in Ilion. Andy was a proud member of the NRA, and found great comfort in visiting disabled veterans and was very proud of his son's military career, also in the Air Force. After a hospitalization at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, Andy made his home in Geneva. He is survived by his son, Andrew J. (Ashley) Loren, USAF Guam; his siblings, Patrick Loren of Ilion, Patricia (Robert) Battisti of St. Johnsville, and Jerry Loren of Cedar Hill, TX, several nieces and nephews along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
