Barb was born on June 30, 1930 in North Hornell, NY.   Her family moved to New Haven, CT where she graduated from West High School.  She spent summers in Ovid, with her Aunt Marian, and Uncle Eddie Limner then ultimately came to live here.  She was married to Joseph Matarewski on June 5, 1954, at Christ Church in Willard. Barb retired from Willard Psych Center as evening Housekeeping supervisor.  She had been active in the VFW Post #6200 in the past, and truly enjoyed playing bingo throughout the area.  Her family and friends always looked forward to her freezer full of cookies and her fabulous cooking.

Barb is survived by her cousins, Karl Limner of Caledonia, Carol Limner of Ovid and their families, her sister in law, Roberta French and her daughters, Donna Majors and Gail Andrews all of the Rochester area, her longtime neighbors, the Lichak “boys”: John, Steve, George and Robert and Michael Jr.,  Joe Licak and Brenda Lichak Cornish.   She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Gladys and William Keenan, and by her husband, Joseph, a brother, Phillip and a nephew Ronald, and a special friend, Ann Marie Licak Hast.
