Christian G. Schweizer, age 74, of Ovid passed away at Seneca Nursing and Rehab on Friday, August 7, 2015.

Prayers of committal and full military honors will be held at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Noon (12:00pm) on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Chris was born in Brooklyn on June 22, 1941, a son of the late Christian and Harriet (Beyer) Schweizer. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. Chris worked as a draftsman for several years before taking a position as a bus driver with the MTA on Long Island.  After moving to Ovid in 1998 Chris became a member of the American Legion in Ovid. From that point on Chris would fondly be referred to as “Chris the bus driver.” He also enjoyed working on model trains and bowling.

Chris is survived by his wife, Inez Schweizer of Ovid; a daughter, Christine Schweizer of Penfield, NY; a son, Charles Schweizer of Oceanside, NY; and four grandchildren, Caylan, Falynn, and Kestrel Wilder, and Matthew Schweizer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Harriet (Beyer) Schweizer.
