William W. “Bill” Smith, age 94, of 1594 West Blaine Road, passed away at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital on Thursday, July 9, 2015.

Bill was born on March 5, 1921 in Milan, PA, the only son of the late Clyde and Nellie (Hodge) Smith.  He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Army Air Force, returning home in 1946.  He had a long career at Willard Psychiatric Center, retiring as a therapy aide in 1986.  He and his wife Terry travelled extensively in his retirement, visiting 49 States and much of Canada.  Bill loved to play cards and bingo, and made many bus trips to various tourist destinations.  Bill was a proud member of the VFW Post #6200 in Ovid.
 
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Terry L. Rose Smith of Ovid, his sons; Frederick William Smith of Ovid and Christopher Brian Smith of Marion, his stepchildren; Lloyd Rose, Mary Castle and Cindy Wycoff, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.  Bill was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Betty Jane Smith and by a sister, Katherin Schmidt.
