Joseph H. Brodnicki

Joseph H. Brodnicki, age 73, lifetime resident of Ovid and Romulus, passed away at Clifton Springs Hospital on Monday, August 14, 2023 following a recent cancer diagnosis.

Joe was born in Seneca Falls on November 7, 1949, a son of the late Stanley and Agnes (nee Bloniarz) Brodnicki. He was a graduate of Ovid High School and SUNY Canton. Joe enjoyed farming with his family on Brodnicki Farms. He was a lifetime member of South Seneca Sportsman’s Club and the Seneca Farm Bureau. In his retirement, he held multiple positions within the community. He especially enjoyed serving as an elected member of the Romulus Town Council.

He is survived by his wife, Maryann Fink Brodnicki of Ovid; his daughters, Kerri (Mike) Kelsey of Seneca Falls, Amy (Gary Vales) Zona of Rochester and his step-children, Marcy (Doug) Duval of Saratoga Springs, Daniel (Kristen) Fink of Jupiter, FL, Megan Fink of West Milford, NJ and Michelle (Jeremiah) Walsh of Valois; 12 grandchildren, a sister in law, Sandy Brodnicki of Irondequoit and a very large extended family. Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Dan.

The family will receive friends at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. At 1:00 a Time of Reflection will be held by family members followed by a private burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.  An open reception for family and friends will then be held at 2:00pm at the South Seneca Sportsman’s Club, 6894 Yarnell Road, Ovid.
