Walter A. Troutman

Walter A. Troutman, age 78, passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on January 9, 2023.

Walter was born in Seneca Falls on February 3, 1944, the son of the late Douglas and Gwendolyn (nee Thomas) Troutman. He joined the US Air Force in 1964 and proudly served during the Vietnam War. He worked for 20 plus years at Romulus Central School and following his retirement, was a life member of the South Seneca Sportsmen Club. After high school, Walter studied voice at Ithaca College, and his friends and family loved to hear him sing. He greatly enjoyed hunting in his younger years and was an avid golfer all of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cheryl Troutman; children, Pamela (Thomas) Lane, James “Jay” (Linda) Langley and Michael Langley; grandchildren, Jesica (Kenny) Kline, Ashlee (Adam) Prentice and Heidi and Ariel Langley; great grandchildren, Grace, Addyson, Maxwell, Owen, Nicholas, and Jillene; siblings, H. Dennis (Penny) Troutman, Nancy (Jim) Bromka and sister-in-law, Donna Troutman; and several nieces and a nephew. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert Harold and David Troutman.

The family will receive friends at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Burial at Sampson will be held privately for family. Kindly consider a donation to charity of your choice in his memory.
