William "Bill" Olsowske

William G. “Bill” Olsowske, age 88, of 3269 State Route 414, passed away at Geneva General Hospital following a year long illness from cancer.

Bill was born in Seneca Falls on June 17, 1933, the youngest child of Paul and Sadie (Guilfoos) Olsowske.  He was a graduate of Mynderse Academy and had operated both dairy and crop farms. The bulk of his career was working as a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local #545 of Syracuse, having spent time at Warren Brothers, Bero Brothers and lastly at CD Wimmer paving. He has meticulously maintained the farm on Route 414, and known as a local landmark in the area for the stone house and well maintained outbuildings.

Bill is survived by his partner of more than 30 years, Mary McPherson; his daughter, Shelly (Dave) Coville of Seneca Falls; his son, David (Eileen) Olsowske of Seneca Fallls; his grandchildren, Cassandra (Robert) Anderson, Alyssa (Andrew) Chimileski, Sara Olsowske, Erika (Trevor) Parisian and great grandchildren, Evelyn, Kaia, Carter, Harper, Lyra, Natalie and Leo; and his sister, Betty Rogers of Ovid.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Jessica in 1985; his siblings, Lyra, Doris and Stuart.
