Frank E. Nye, age 61, longtime resident of Lodi Center Road, died at his home on Thursday, January 11, 2024, following a cancer diagnosis.
Frank was born in Waterloo on November 13, 1962, a son of the late Milford and Geraldine Nye. He was a graduate of South Seneca High School and had worked at Pine Tree Farms in Interlaken for 12 years prior to his retirement in 2022. Frank was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Aside from quality time spent with his family, his best time spent was in the pumpkin patch. He fostered and nurtured prize-winning giant pumpkins, some reaching 700+ pounds. He enjoyed a quiet life and simplicity at his home in Lodi.
He is survived by his children; Mason (Monica) Nye of Lodi, Beth (Bill) Nye of Trumansburg, his stepchildren; Mike McLaughlin II of Willard, Crystal McLaughlin of Interlaken, Tim (Rachel) Jones of Romulus and Dawn Yaple of Ovid, his grandchildren; Cata, Alera, Alannah, Dominic, Amya, Trey and Nevaya, his siblings; Carl Nye and Nancy Pinette and a large extended family. Frank was preceded in death by his wife Sherri in 2018 and by his sister, Pam Nye-Steen in 2019.
In accordance with Franks wishes, services will be held privately by his family.
