Amanda R. Godwin

June 25, 1982 — April 6, 2024

Romulus

Amanda R. Godwin, age 41, longtime resident of the Romulus area, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Beloved wife of almost 20 years to Maurice Godwin, with whom she joyfully shared her hand in marriage on October 22, 2005. Amanda started her life in Fresno, CA on June 25, 1982, the daughter of Darrell and Sharon Stone. Amanda graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 2000, Later she received an associate degree in early childhood education from Finger Lakes Community College and worked in Seneca Falls until her heart condition forced her to stop. Her unconditional love of children, not only her own, but others as well, was her trademark. Any child was welcome in her heart, and no one knew it better than her own. Amanda was a loving wife and a proud mother who extended her love and care to others. She was an adamant craft worker who loved working with her hands. She was someone who was always understanding and someone who would always lend an ear if you needed it no matter what. She also loved cooking and was so good at putting a smile on someone's face when she made something. Though her time on this earth was short, the positive influence she had on other lives is remarkable.

Amanda is survived by her loving husband Maurice and her adored children; Maurice II, Xavier and Tatianna, all of Romulus; her siblings, Benaiah (Jen), Hyacinth(Josh), Jahleel (Laura), Jemuel (Ashley), Corey (Anna)and Spencer Jamie Davis, Ivy Scarborough; Nieces Tamijah, Vivien, nephew Beniah; her husband’s parents, Carl and Mary Godwin of Romulus, brothers-in-law, Carl (Cassandra) Godwin II, Troy (Linda) Brown and a very large extended family. She was preceded in death by her twin daughters, Allanna, Kristianna, baby Aaron and by her parents, and her grandparents; Don (Billie) Winton.
