Betty L. Mead

Betty A. Mead, age 85 longtime resident of Verona Village died on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Cayuga Ridge Nursing Home following a recent cancer diagnosis.

Betty was born in Elmira on October 13, 1938, the daughter of the late Roland and Minnie (nee Jones) Mead.  She was a 1956 graduate of Ovid High School and began a 40 year career as a therapy aide at Willard Psychiatric Center in 1959.

Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Donald and survived by her friends; Carol and Gerard DeGaray, Donna Sherwood and Tina Carlsen.

Graveside services were held privately at Ovid Union Cemetery.
