David R. Coryell, age 83, lifetime resident of the area, died at Strong Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 22, 2025, following a brief hospitalization.
David was born in Waterloo on January 7, 1942, the only son of the late Gordon and Evelyn (nee Waugh) Coryell. David was also a long-time volunteer of the Kendaia Cemetery, where many of his ancestors are buried.
David is survived by his children, Lee (Shelly) Coryell of Phelps and Cathy Coryell of Liverpool; a stepdaughter, Lalania Garner-Winter; his grandchildren; Julia (Glen) Stevenson, Anna (Benjamin) Cosh, Maverick Coryell, Caitlyn Coryell and Diarmuid O’Cealliagh; his sisters; Mary (Gary) Sabin of Farmington; and Joann Niemeyer of Galway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Heidi in 2023.
