Thomas E. Terryberry, age 95, formerly of Ovid and Seneca Lake Terrace in Geneva, passed away at Huntington Living Center on Tuesday, August 1, 2017,

Tom was born on Wycoff Road in the Town of Ovid on October 20, 1921, the son of the late Robert and Lena (Matthews) Terryberry. In 1942 he was called to serve his country in the US Army during WWII. He and Geraldine Lewis were married on July 16, 1944, while he was on leave. He returned in 1945 and started a long career at Willard Psychiatric Center, where he worked as a cook. Tom was a founding member of the VFW Post #6200 in Ovid. Upon his retirement in 1977, they moved from their home on Poplar Beach to Florida, then to Tennessee and after the death of Geraldine in 1996, he returned to Waterloo in 2000.
Tom is survived by his children, James (Cheryl) Terryberry of Seneca Falls and Deborah (Robert) Furst of Ovid; 4 grandchildren, James Terryberry II, Adam Furst, Heather Rathie and Jeramie Furst; 6 great grandchildren; his brother, Kenneth Terryberry of Florida; and friend, Fred Hauck.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; brother, Elmer; and by his sisters, Mary Harrison and Lena Rose Terryberry, and by his friend, Wayne Schaffer.
