Edward C. Turk, age 78, died unexpectedly at his home on Dean Road in Lodi.
Ed was born in Ithaca on February 4, 1947, a son of the late Earl and Pauline (nee Stickels) Turk. He was a 1965graduate of Ithaca High School and served in the US Army after graduation. He had worked for Erhart’s in Trumansburg prior to beginning a long career with the Town of Covert Highway Department, while also working as a substitute bus driver for South Seneca. Ed was known as a “Harley Guy” and had owned and restored and rebuilt many motorcycles. As a car enthusiast and motorhead, he had many projects under way at any one time, notably his Model A, along with many others. He was also a passionate horseman, raising and showing prized Percheron Draft Horses on his SouthWind Farm. After his retirement, Ed found himself working with the Amish on many levels.
Ed is survived by his wife of nearly 32 years, Tina; and his daughters, Jaimee (Ben) Toledo of Lodi and Kimberly Turk of Rochester; his favorite and partner in crime granddaughter, Oliva Toledo; a sister-in-law, Diana (Peter) Lotito of Selma, NC and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger and Marvin.
