Ellen Louise Moore, of Dilts Road, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the age of 77.
Ellen was born in Syracuse on August 2, 1948, the eldest child of Lot and Shirley Fuller. She graduated from Central Square High School and was married to her high-school sweetheart, David Moore a few years later on October 21, 1967. They began married life in Richmond Virginia where David was stationed with the Airforce. Upon discharge, they established their home and started a family in Romulus. Over the next 21 years, Ellen became a devoted mother to six children and afterwards worked as a teacher’s assistant at Romulus Central School for many years until retirement. She was actively involved in the Holy Cross Parish for over 50 years, serving as a Sunday school teacher, pre-Canaan wedding counselor, Eucharistic minister and lector. In later years she also became a devoted member and leader of the local chapter of Community Bible Study. Ellen was the embodiment of the gift of hospitality. She thrived when entertaining and her home was the hub of family activities and lively get-togethers of every sort. Ellen showered her 13 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters with love and attention at every opportunity she could. She was eagerly looking forward to the birth of 2 more great grandchildren in the next few months.
She is survived by her children; Kathryn (Mark) Dalton of North Carolina, Cynthia (Daryl) Fitzgerald of Connecticut, Kimberly (Marvin) Cole of Farmington, Teresa (Javier Rosa) Moore of Ithaca, Christopher Moore of Romulus and Amanda (Justin) Macksamie of Tennessee. Ellen is also survived by her brothers, Dave and Eugene Fuller, James Doud and her sisters, Beth Holland, MaeBeth Doud and Karen Fuller. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, David in 2021; her parents, stepfather, and brothers, Thomas and Charles Fuller.
Ellen’s children would like everyone to know that Ellen left behind a legacy that encompasses several generations across multiple states, and she has now achieved her life goal of going home to be with Jesus. Ellen finished her race with dignity and faith. She cast off the toil and cares of this world and is currently singing the praises of Almighty God, along with David, their Dad. They take comfort in the fact that all is well with her soul.
