Emily Rose Seymour

September 10, 2009 — October 16, 2025

Romulus

Emily Rose Seymour, born on September 10, 2009 in Geneva, was a cherished member of her family and an inspiring student at Romulus Central School. On the morning of October 16, 2025 she lost her 3 year struggle with anxiety/depression. Tragically, she took her own life, leaving a profound impact on the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

As a junior at Romulus Central School, she was known not only for her academic excellence, consistently achieving high honor roll and membership in Honor Society, but also for her creative talents as a writer. Her dedication to her studies was matched only by her spirit of kindness toward all and her fierce loyalty and love for her friends and family. In public and to most, Emily displayed a quiet, reserved personality. At home or with those who truly knew Emily, her witty, sarcastic sense of humor filled her surroundings with laughter and joy.

Emily had a deep love for her friends - always putting others’ needs ahead of her own. Any spending money that she earned was always used to buy gifts for her friends and her brothers. She loved to serve others, and baking special treats for her friends and family was one of her favorite hobbies. She loved roller coasters, thrill rides, and adored everything Dolly Parton. She cherished movie nights with her dad, and delighted in attending musicals with her mother, sharing moments that will forever remain treasures in her family’s memories.

Emily is survived by her loving parents, Rick and Donna Seymour; her brothers Matthew and Timothy Seymour; her grandparents, Don and Carol Andrus, Dan and Kathy Seymour, and Jim Transue; her aunts and uncles Judd Seymour, Kathleen Batko, Deborah and Don Ferretti, Jim and Denise Hawkins; along with many cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Dorie Transue. Each of these individuals holds cherished memories of Emily and will remember her for the light she brought into their lives.

The loss of Emily is deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her, and she will be remembered for her passion and creativity as well as the kindness and love she shared with her family and friends. She will be mourned, not only for her kind spirit and lovely personality but also for the bright future that lay ahead of her. As we celebrate her life and the moments we were fortunate to share, we hold onto the love she imparted to all of us, and we take comfort in knowing she is now being rocked in the arms of her Lord. May her memory be a blessing, echoing in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Emily’s life will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Seneca Community Church in Romulus, officiated by Pastor Dave Spencer.
