H. Ferrand Raymond Jr.

Raymond H. Ferrand Jr., age 100, longtime resident of Interlaken, passed away at his Brookdale home in Ithaca on Monday, September 10, 2018.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Interlaken Reformed Church with Pastor David Leonard officiating. Ray was born on June 30, 1918, in Gardenville, NY, a son of the late Raymond F. and Julia (Kissinger) Ferrand Sr. He attended Cornell University, graduating in 1941, and he later earned his master❜s degree from Purdue University. He honorably served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Ray specialized in agricultural lending, working as a loan supervisor for the Farmers Home Administration in Tompkins and Wayne counties, retiring out of Yates County.

Ray is suvived by two daughters, Cathy F. (Mike) Bullock of N. Logan, Utah, and Ellen F. (Eugene) Whitley of Wake Forest, NC, and two grandsons, Micah Whitley of Cutler Bay, FL and Benjamin (Amanda) Whitley of Harisburg, NC. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Fortner Ferrand in 2009.
