Ines Z. Destriza

Ines Z. Destriza, age 91, longtime resident of 8190 State Route 96, died suddenly on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

Ines was born on April 4, 1934, in the Philippines, she and her husband were farmers in their local community. They both stemmed from several generations of farmers. She and her husband emigrated to New York in 1988, to join their daughter and her new family. She became a naturalized citizen of the USA and enjoyed the responsibilities of being a homemaker, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family here. Her devoted husband, Delphin died unexpectedly in 1992, and she moved for a short time to California with one of her sons. Ines was good, humble, unassuming, grounded, kind, and generous with a steadfast love for her large family around the world.

She is survived by her children; Zosima (Mike) Abbate of Interlaken, Celia Orit of the Philippines, Alex (Libby) Destriza of Seneca Falls, Jimmy and Jean Destriza of the Philippines, many many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and their families. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Tony, Naldo, Felix, Ray and Emma. 

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church on Orchard Street in Interlaken, prayers of committal will then be held at Lake View Cemetery in Interlaken.
