Nita was born in Waverly, New York on June 24, 1932, the daughter of the late Arthur VanCise (aka William Kidd) and Vera (Rosekrans) VanCise Jennings. Nita had a terrific work ethic, and had been in housekeeping at Cornell University in the 1960❜s and 70❜s. In the mid 70❜s she and her husband, Bud Hillick, decided to relocate to Belleville, MI. They lived there for over 20 years and she worked as an executive housekeeper at Hilton and Howard Johnson Hotels, before starting her own housekeeping business. After Bud❜s death, she met Earl Peterson, they married and decided to retire to Beverly Hills, FL. During their 12 years in Florida, she was actively involved in her church, weekly Bible studies, and the nursing home ministry with her beloved poodle, BJ. Following Earl❜s death in 2006, she decided that she wanted to be closer to her family, and returned to Ovid in June of that year.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Joseph) Licak of Ovid; a son, Brian Swick of Alabama and a step daughter, Carol (Don) Riccardi of Maryland; her grandsons, Matthew (Mandy) Licak of Knoxville, TN, Zachariah (Katie) Licak and Ethan (Lindsey) Licak, all of Ovid; great grandchildren, Abigayl, Joseph and Lillian Licak; a brother, Victor (Pam) Jennings of Varick; nephews, Timothy Jennings of Geneva and Keith (Carol) Jennings of Varick; and a foster brother, Wilfred (Sue) Bush of Montour Falls. Nita was preceded in death by her brother, Carl VanCise.
