Kimberly J. Walborn of Waterloo passed away tragically on September 8, 2025, at the age of 61.
Born on May 2, 1964, in Clifton Springs, New York, Kim dedicated her life to caring for others, starting her career at the DDSO's Ovid home as a developmental assistant. She later became a developmental assistant III at Finger Lakes DDSO, where she actively maintained relationships with her co-workers and clients long after her retirement.
Kim was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, particularly taking great pride in the care of her three boys. The joy she found in being their nana was a defining aspect of her life. She also enjoyed completing puzzles, traveling—particularly to any beach destination with family or while on Girls Vacation— and watching home and garden shows. She was an avid gardener and took great pride in her butterfly garden. In her retirement, Kim began Thrifty shopping for local finds and always managing to uncover special items for her loved ones. Kimberly carried with her an innate ability to brighten any room with her selfless spirit, infectious smile, and unforgettable laugh.
Kim is survived by her husband, Ralph Walborn Jr; her children, Jeffrey (Brigit Kirwan) Parish, Brianne (Ryan) Beer, and Hayley (Codie Arno) Walborn; her beloved grandchildren, Carson Smith, Brycen Arno, and Calvin Beer; mother, Judith Walczak; siblings, Cindy Stewart, Cheryl (Thomas) Rapalee, Theresa (Angelo) Bosco, and Lori (Lonnie) Walker; stepsister, Melinda Bennett; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
