Melanie L. Morabito, age 49, of 1074 Ritter Road Spur, died at Strong Memorial Hosptial on Saturday, September 10, 2016, following an exhausting struggle with cancer.
The family will receive friends at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 South Main Street in Ovid, from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Thursday, September 15, 2016. A Scripture service will be offered at the funeral home, by Fr. Bernard Maloney, at 10:00am on Friday, September 16, 2016. Prayers of committal will be held at Mount Green Cemetery in Romulus. Melanie was born in Geneva, on September 6, 1967, the daughter of Glenn and Eileen (Allen) Walborn. She was a Romulus High School graduate and attended CCBI in Syracuse. She had worked as an account clerk at the Seneca County Highway Department for several years, and only recently took a leave of absence. Melanie enjoyed coaching youth cheerleading for the Waterloo Youth Football and Cheerleading league for many years. She was an avid baker and was known for her various desserts.
She is survived by her husband, Michael of Waterloo, their daughter, Erica, currently a student at SUNY Brockport; her parents, Glenn and Eileen Walborn of Romulus; a sister, Laurie L. Walborn of Glendale,
AZ; her mother in law, Joan Morabito of Geneva; brothers in law, Mark and Jeffery Morabito of Geneva, and Thomas (Sue) Morabito of New Jersey; a sister in law, Deborah (Trent) Williams of Geneva, several nieces and nephews, and by her parents large extended families.
