Marilynn R. Frank, a beloved educator and a beacon of kindness, departed this world peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Geneva,  after prolonged  health challenges. Born on June 28, 1945, in Geneva, she blossomed into a profound spirit whose impact was felt by many, particularly within the walls of the LaFayette Intermediate School in Waterloo, where she dedicated decades of her life as a reading teacher.

Throughout her career, Marilynn passionately advocated for children, tirelessly working to ensure they attained a well-rounded education within a supportive environment. Her commitment and dedication did not go unnoticed, and in 1998, she was honored as Educator of the Year by the Waterloo Education Association—a testament to her unwavering devotion to her students and their families.

Educated at SUNY Cortland, Marilynn received her Master’s degree in education, a reflection of her commitment to lifelong learning and excellence. She was an ardent member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority and remained a proud sister throughout her life. Her deep spiritual nature and gentle demeanor resonated with all who crossed her path, ensuring that her abundant kindness and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Marilynn found joy in homemaking and the art of gift-giving, displaying her innate ability to bring happiness to others through small yet meaningful gestures. Her love for animals was evident through her cherished pets who were an integral part of her life over the years.

In her spiritual community, Marilynn was a devout parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, dedicating her time as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and faith formation teacher. Her contributions to the church reflected her commitment to fostering faith and guiding others in their spiritual journeys.

Marilynn is survived by her loving husband, Gerry, with whom she shared nearly fifty years of marriage, having exchanged vows on October 7, 1976, in Fayette. Their partnership was a source of joy and strength, and they faced life's many seasons side by side.

She joins her beloved parents, William C. and Dorothy (nee O'Connor) Legott, who have predeceased her. Marilynn’s legacy of compassion, dedication, and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
