Andres Perez Jr., age 57, longtime resident of Lodi and formerly of Candor, died peacefully at home on Thursday, August 28, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 South Main Street in Ovid, officiated by Fr. Bart Minson, OFMCap of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Prayers of committal will be held at West Lodi Cemetery, and a reception will follow at the American Legion Post #462 in Ovid. Andres was born in Geneva on February 15, 1957, the eldest son of Andres A. and Carmen (Rodriquez) Perez. His family moved to Lodi and he attended South Seneca Central Schools. For several years he has been employed at Cornell University, working the Cascadilla facility as the lead custodian. His happiest times were spent at family gatherings, his famous pig roasts, cruizing in his fast cars. He was very proud of his Puerto Rican heritage. He is survived by his children, Kristin Coleman of Lodi, Aaron Coleman of Virginia and Phillip Coleman of Montour Falls, his grandchildren, Dylan Houseknecht, Aaron Coleman Jr., and Angela Coleman, his mother, Carmen Perez of Lodi and his siblings, Abrian Perez of Interlaken, Carmen L. Perez of Groton, Maggie (Tony) Pesco of Interlaken and Amelia (Bill) Brewer of Lodi, and a host of nieces and nephews.
