Frances Rae Covert, age 90, of Waterloo, formerly of Romulus passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Huntington Living Center.
The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 So. Main Street, Ovid. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 6:00pm, at the funeral home with Rev. Stephen Beals officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service at the MacDougall Sportsmen’s Club, 2300 MacDougall Road, Waterloo, NY. Prayers of Committal will be held in the Spring in Mount Green Cemetery in Romulus. The family asks those who would like to make a contribution in Frances’ memory to kindly consider Huntington Living Center.
Frances was born in Dansville on July 19, 1924, to the late Ray and Fanny Burdick, the youngest of three children. She graduated from Hornell High School. After working various places over the years, Frances took a job in the cafeteria at Romulus Central Schools and was fondly referred to as “Grams” by many students. She was an active member of the West Fayette Church.
The family would like to thank all the staff, caregivers, and friends at Huntington Living Center for the exceptional care and compassion they have given Frances over the past several years.
Frances in survived by six children, Barbara J. (Scott) Rose of Geneva, George E. Covert of Conway, SC, Louis A. (Sherry) Covert of Romulus, and Raymond F. Covert (Evy Hanvey) of Powhatan, Virginia, Lynn, and Lee; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; Kimbra Covert and Mary Lou Covert; niece, Sally Brown of Hornell; nephew, Robert (Diane) Taylor; and numerous close friends. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Covert Jr.; and two sisters, Illean and Dorothy.
