“

Without the presence of his mischievous smile and his effervescent personality, we are left to carry on.

Manhattan/Willard-Shawn R. Davie, age 47, longtime resident of NYC and New Jersey, died unexpectedly at his home in Manhattan on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

Shawn was born in Geneva on May 9, 1979, the son of Robert and Mary Lou (nee Snyder) Davie. He was a graduate of South Seneca High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Utica College of Syracuse University and his master’s degree in healthcare administration from Ashford University. He had been the manager of the Molecular Imaging and Therapy Services at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center since 2018, having previously worked at DaVita Kidney Care and NYC Health and Hospitals Corp.

Besides being a consummate health care professional with a remarkable bedside manner, Shawn loved life. He gave his patients and his co-workers 100 percent and shared his keen sense of humor with all who met him. When he was not working, his favorite past time was traveling which he did extensively. Shawn's life and light have shone brightly for his family, friends, and especially his twin sister Kristin. Without the presence of his mischievous smile and his effervescent personality, we are left to carry on.

Shawn is survived by his mother, Mary Lou and twin sister, Kristin, both of Willard; his uncle, Gerry Snyder, his aunts, Brenda (Paul) Pinette and Jan Davie, along with many cousins and their families. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Davie in 2019; by his aunts and uncles, Gloria Tripp, David Eggersdorf, Peggy Conklin, Paul and Bill Davie.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main Street in Ovid. Kindly consider a donation to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center - Group Return in Shawn’s memory.
