Tanya M. Mayo

Tanya M. Mayo, age 53, lifetime resident of the Ovid and Trumansburg areas, died on Friday, September 4, 2026, as a result of an auto accident.

Tanya was born in Waterloo, NY on March 20, 1973, and attended Romulus Central School. Her caring nature led her to work as a homecare provider for several years. Tanya was a great mother and wonderful friend, who was always willing to lend a hand if she could help in any way. She had a free spirit that was never held back by any of the difficulties that life could throw at her.

Tanya is survived by her son, Andew and her grandchildren, Finnegan and Rohan; her siblings, James Kissell Jr. of Willard, Shawn Kissell of Connecticut, Melanie Champion and Susan (Bill) Buchel of Willard and her nieces, Nichole, Elizabeth, Amber, Stephanie, Annan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Greg in 2023 and her mother, Avis Kissell in 2022.

While her family grieves her sudden death, no services are planned for the present time. Kindly remember her with a smile and knowledge that she loved deeply and held a place in her heart for every one of you.
