Hudson Falls, NY - Todd A. Tillinghast, age 59, passed away suddenly on April 3, 2026, in Lake Wales, Florida. Born on August 20, 1966, in Ithaca, Todd lived a life marked by his culinary talents, passion for gambling, and warm-hearted nature that endeared him to many.

Throughout his life, Todd transformed his exceptional cooking skills from a cherished hobby into a profession. He worked as a chef at various periods, delighting those around him with his artistry in the kitchen. Todd also nurtured a keen passion for the art of gambling, which also became an aspect of his working life. In recent years, he was employed as a warehouseman for Target.

When Todd moved to Hudson Falls, he quickly embraced the community, forming deep and lasting friendships with locals who appreciated his friendly spirit and generous nature. His ability to connect with others made him a valued presence wherever he went. Also known for his love of the Miami Dolphins-always sharing sideline banter with his nephew, Douglas, and his quest for knowledge of history and its preservation. A day well spent could include visiting a museum, a zoo or an aquarium.

Todd's sudden passing occurred while he was preparing dinner and engaged in conversation over the phone, an event that deeply shocked and saddened all who knew him. His vibrant energy and kindness left a lasting impression, and his absence will be profoundly felt.

He is survived by his father, John “Jack” Tillinghast, and Jack’s wife, Sally, of Ovid. Todd also leaves behind his sister, Joli Chamberlain, and her husband, Jeff, of Balston Spa. He shared a very close relationship with his niece Emily Wilson and her husband, Arch and a nephew Doug Chamberlain: all of whom held a special place in his heart. Todd is further survived by a very large extended family who cherish his memory, along with his many friends - relationships that were built on solid foundation. Todd was preceded in death by his mother, Marianne Gleason in 2025.

As friends and family remember Todd A. Tillinghast, they celebrate a man whose talents, warmth, and community spirit enriched the lives of so many.
