B. Ethel Obituary

Ethel B. Bond, age 96, of Waterloo, NY, and formerly of Ovid and Winter Haven, FL, died on Monday March 3, 2014 at the Wayne County Nursing Home in Lyons.

In accordance with Ethel’s wishes there will be no prior calling hours. A grave side memorial service will be held in the Spring at the Canoga Cemetery, with interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Ethel’s memory to the Beverly Animal Shelter, or the charity of one’s choice.

Mrs. Bond was born in Lodi, and lived most of her life in the Finger Lakes Area, moving to Winter Haven FL in 1982, and returning to Waterloo following the death of her husband, Carman, in 2001. She had worked in the cafeteria at Ovid Central School, the Sampson State Hospital and Newark State School before retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Varick Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Robert (Joyce) of Winter Haven FL; a daughter Judy (Joe) Dubrule of Lyons; grandchildren Darlene Rousseau and Douglas Bond of Ontario, Penny Beck of Cape May, NJ, Patti Beck of Seneca Falls, Pamela Beck of Waterloo, and Dale Bond of Winter Haven, FL, and by four great-grandchildren. Ethel was predeceased in death by her husband of 66 years, Carman W. Bond in 2001, her sisters Tillie Percy, Evelyn Taylor and Esther Terriberry; and a grandson Steven Beck.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Wayne County Nursing Home for the excellent and loving care she received while she was there. They also extend sincere thanks to the many care givers who made it possible for Ethel to remain at home for as long as possible.
