Constance Mott Obituary

Constance A. “Connie” Mott, longtime resident of Old Lake Road, passed away at Pathway Home in Seneca Falls on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

Connie was born in Endicott on November 27, 1935, a daughter of the late Norbert and Elizabeth Carlson.  She was married to John “Jack” Mott on November 24, 1956. They made their family home in Endicott, while also following Jack’s IBM career to The Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island Florida for 4 years. Upon returning in the early 1970’s, she obtained her real estate license, and then had a 40-year career as a realtor, having worked for C&R Realty, Farrell Realty and retired from Realty USA of Endwell in 2015. She moved to their lake home in Lodi, which served as the hub of family activities and gatherings for decades. Connie was a devoted wife, mother, and an adoring grandmother and great grandmother.  She was known as Grandma Connie, not only by her own grandchildren, but by most adults and children that grew up on Old Lake Road. A perfect day for Grandma Connie consisted of fishing at daybreak, swimming and sunning during the day and card games late into the night with her famous clam dip. Most notably, Connie was the matriarch of family dinner, whether it was 6 or 26, she had the menu, a plan and saw to it that her family was together for that all-important meal of the day. Connie was no stranger to having a good time! In her years as a member of the Elks Club, she organized their Bingo program, she traveled the country following her beloved football and was known to visit a few casinos, and always had a deck of cards ready in hand.

She is survived by her children; Michael (Cindy) Mott of Lodi, Susan Berglund of California, Joe (Shelly) Mott of Iowa, her grandchildren; Benjamin (Courtney) Mott, Katie (Walter) Wilmshurst, Jack and Grace Mott, Brooke Berglund, Jenna (Nick) Niemann, Christopher and Brendan Mott and her great grandchildren, Madison and Mason Mott, Rheagan and Riley Wilmshurst and Amelia Niemann, and by a brother, David Carlson.  Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 1992.

The family will receive friends at Holy Cross Church in Ovid on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 9:00am to 10:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 10:00am by Fr.
