Marilyn L. Palmer

Marilyn L. Palmer, age 83, of 4253 Seybolt Road, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 11, 2022.

Marilyn was born in Jordan, NY on December 21, 1938, a daughter of the late Martin Luther and Marian Catherine (nee Richards) Halstead. She received her bachelor's degree from Oswego State University, and taught elementary school, retiring from Union Springs School District. Marilyn also assisted in the family business, South Seneca Pharmacy in Ovid.  She was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Seneca Falls, serving in the vestry, as Sunday School Superintendent and taught Sunday school for decades.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, as they celebrated their anniversary on July 1st of this year, David Palmer; her beloved children, Meagan (Shawn) McCall of Farmington, NY and Darren Palmer of Wellington, FL and her adored grandsons, Kai and Ollie Palmer; her brother, Dale Halstead; her father-in-law, Jim Palmer and a host of family and close friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her siblings, Edward (Audrey) and Keith (Jemal) Halstead, Winona Schmitt and her mother-in-law, Ruth Palmer.

The family will receive friends at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid from 2:00 to 3:00pm on Thursday, July 21, 2022 A memorial service will then follow at 3:00pm, celebrated by Fr. Jeffrey Haugaard of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waterloo. Interment will be held privately by the family.
