Mary A. Wescott

Mary A. Wescott, age 91, of 25 Oak Street and longtime resident of First Street in Willard, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 1, 2022.

Mary was born in Montour Falls on January 26, 1931.  She had worked at Willard Psychiatric Center as a therapy aide for many years.  Mary had been a member of the Interlaken Order of the Eastern Star, and participated in many activities at the American Legion Post #463 in Ovid. Following the death of her husband, Raymond, in 2001, she moved to her Oak Street home in Geneva.

She is survived by her loving family; a daughter, Marlene (Stephen) Holtby of Geneva; a granddaughter, Stephanie (Thomas) Hoover of Clarksville, MD; her great-grandchildren, Zachary Glass and Chase Hoover; and by her sister, Joan Green of Horseheads. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Raymond of 53 years; by her brother, Donald Haring; and her mother, Anna P. Haring.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main Street in Ovid, and prayers of committal will be held at Ovid Union Cemetery.
