Norma J. (Grace) Benjamin

Norma J. Benjamin, age 91, passed away at her home on County Road 129, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

Norma was born in Burlington Township, Pennsylvania on August 20, 1930, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Edna Grace.  She was married to LaVerne “Bunny” Benjamin in 1948 and had worked at GTE/Sylvania in Towanda, PA. They moved to Interlaken, NY she had worked at Willard Psychiatric Center, and Bunny at Cornell University. Upon retirement they moved to Georgia and then settled in Ashland, Alabama for several years. Later in life she and her son Marty returned to New York to be near family.

Norma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and devoted her time and energy to her family.  They were able to enjoy many years at their summer camp in Griffith, Ontario, Canada.

She is survived by her sons; Duane and Marty, both of Ovid; her grandsons, Lee and Jonathan Benjamin and Scott Strickland; her great grandchildren, Gracie, Hayden, Jaxson, Landon, Austin, Matthew and Aubrey and a brother, Larry Grace of Waverly, NY. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne in 2002, her daughter Susan Strickland in 2015 and her daughter in law, Debbie Kuleszo in 2022, and by her brothers, Donald Grace and Dean Horning.

A graveside service will be held at Ashland City Cemetery in Ashland, AL at 2:00 on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.
