Norman A. Kelsey, age 87, of 1021 Waterloo-Geneva Road Lot 12, died at Geneva General Hospital on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, following a brief hospitalization.
Norm was born on June 21, 1933, following his graduation from high school in Hollywood, California, he joined the US Navy and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He made his way to New York, was employed at Seneca Army Depot retiring from the security department, while also serving in the Army National Guard, retiring as Staff Sergeant. Norm was married to Nancy (Stephens) Martz at the YMCA in Geneva in 1994, where they swam every day for decades.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 19, 2022 at 11:00am at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main Street Ovid. Burial with Military Honors will take place at 12:00pm at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Claudia Kelsey of Ottawa, Canada, Cheryl (Danny) Kennedy of Milton, FL, Thomas Martz Jr. of Waterloo, Thersia (Robert) Taggart of Pine Mountain, GA, Tracey (David) Martz-Hoffman of Geneva and son-in-law Joseph LaGeorge III of Mount Morris;13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and their families. Norm was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy LaGeorge of Mount Morris and by his sisters, Fara and Deanna.
