Robert Jensen Obituary

Robert L. Jensen, age 50, of State Route 336, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

Rob was born in Geneva, NY on May 22, 1971 and attended Romulus Central School. He worked as a mechanic, most recently at Select EuroCars in Waterloo. Rob was an avid bowler, belonging to the “300” club, and traveled to Reno and other places for bowling tournaments, he loved to play poker, and loved to spend time at the casinos. It seemed that no matter what Rob put his mind to, he could do it, and win at it. Rob also loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and loved to ride. But there was nothing he loved more than fishing. He lived and breathed fishing, learning from an early age to love the sport from his beloved grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and member of the Barge Canal Bassmasters, and after purchasing his own bass boat, Robert soon gained Club Champion status for which he was the most proud. Any conversation you ever had with Rob soon turned to fishing. He never tired of it.

The other obsession Rob had was with cooking. Rob loved to perfect his own chicken wing sauces, no one ever made one hot enough for him, and perfecting the perfect smoked brisket. He shared his love for food with his family, and frequently treated them to some of the most delicious smoked meats you would ever taste. At Thanksgiving time, he and his aunt could be found fighting over the skin of the turkey before dinner. Rob was more like her little brother than her nephew, and Gramma would scold them every time. Rob always had a smile on his face, always had a joke or a story to tell, and he had a lot of friends and family who will miss him dearly.

Rob is survived by his son, Cory; mother, Marsha; father, Robert Copp of MacDougall, brother, Michael Coble; maternal grandmother, Betty Jensen, aunt, Virginia (John) Lincoln all of Romulus; uncle, George (Mary) Jensen of Waterloo, and his niece Trisha Coble, along with numerous cousins. Rob was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George P. Jensen, the man Rob looked up to, the man that gave him his love for cars, and fishing.

The family will host friends at a memorial service at The MacDougall Sportsmen’s Club, January 15th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Please come and share your memories of Rob with us
