Ruth P. (Powers) Cuson

Ruth P. Cuson, age 83, passed away peacefully at the Bixby Home in Interlaken on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

She was born in LaCrosse, WI on April 19, 1938, the daughter of Harvey and Marie (Hefti) Powers, sibling of Nancy, Ellen, Richard and Thom. She met, and then married John Cuson on June 8, 1957, and started their family.  

Many may have known her from her 40 years in the retail industry, always the smiling, cheerful and helpful associate. In 2000, Ruth retired to enjoy her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to host fancy tea parties with them, a memories that will be forever cherished. In addition, Ruth loved collecting and creating repurposed items to use and enjoy in her home, and was an avid seamstress.

Ruth is survived by her children, Deb (Clay) VanNostrand of Waterloo, Suelynn Safford of Sidney Center, Lauri (Gary) Stoltz of Sterling and Michael (Jennie) Cuson of Interlaken; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, John.

A celebration of life will be held at Simply Homemade, 2194 Yellow Tavern Road in Waterloo on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00pm.
