Pudge was born in Mountaintop, Pennsylvania on March 30, 1948, the oldest son of Walter and Bessie (Barber) Wech. Pudge attended Ovid High School and was a stellar football player. His time was spent with his constant companion, a chihuahua he affectionately referred to as “The Mexican.” A lifetime member of the South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club, Pudge spent many years doing what he loved best, cooking great food and watching people enjoy it. Hunting was a favorite hobby in his younger years then fishing became a source of good memories spent with family and friends. Pudge also had a passion for coin collecting and enjoyed the many hours he scrutinized each one and researched every bit of data he could find on his acquisitions.
