William R. “Bill” Bowen, age 71, of Beaujon Road, passed away at Geneva General Hospital on Friday, November 12, 2021.
Bill was born in Montour Falls on January 5, 1950, a son of the late George and Hazel Bowen. He graduated from Odessa-Montour High School and had worked as a fork lift operator at Shepard Niles for nearly 20 years. He later worked as a delivery driver for Getman’s Gas Company, which later became Ferrell Gas, until his health forced an early retirement. Bill spent the past several years as an Amish driver and hauler.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barb; his children, Chris (Jackie) Bowen of Odessa and their children, Wyatt, Cody and Christopher; Dawn (Ray) Baldwin of Trumansburg; his siblings, Lisa (Gary) Laue and Kate (Phil) Rumsey all of Enfield, George (Blanche) Bowen of Montour Falls; his stepchildren, Michael Wilkins of Ovid and his sons, Michael and Josh, and James J. (Sara) Brewer, and their children, Mackenzie, Shelby, Kasey, Lindsey and Hayley and Avery, along with many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Amy Brewer.
